Components list:
  • T1 = minimum transformer 5A or more.
  • A1 = rectifier bridge 10A or more.
  • C1 = 10.000uF/50V.
  • C2 = C3 = 100nF
  • IC1 = LM7812
  • Q1 = TIP 3055, can be tailored to the needs.
  • R1 = 1 ohm 5-10 watt.

Performance or function 

To realize schematic power supply 12 volt, 3 - 5 ampere you can get all component needed easily in the electronic market near you. To know more performance of this electronic schematic of this power supply please follow our description bellow:

  1. Transformer T1 is step down transformer that used to transform 220 VAC to 12 VAC, this transformer not use CT but only 0 - 12 volt. 
  2. Bridge diode is used to convert AC voltage to DC voltage, in here bridge diodes use 4 diode.
  3. Capacitor C1 is electrolyte capacitor (Elco) that used to reduce ripple in DC voltage from bridge diodes.
  4. To get stable 12 volt we can use IC LM7812 than will open output voltage 12 volt as input from transistor Q1.
  5. Transistor Q1 2N3055 one or more is used to make out voltage stable with max 12 volt and 3 - 5 Ampere current. Note that you can use similar transistor to get good current output.
